Abstract

Introduction. The article is devoted to the labor feat of the youth of the Ulyanovsk region and its contribution to the victory over fascism during the Great Patriotic War. The relevance of the work is determined by the fact that for the first time, from an objective point of view, an analysis was carried out of the activities of youth and youth organizations of the Ulyanovsk region in providing various types of assistance to the Red Army in 1941 — 1945.

Materials and methods. The sources of the study were materials from archival documents, periodicals and statistical collections. The methodological basis of the study is represented by a complex of general scientific and specific historical principles and methods of scientific knowledge.

Results and discussion. In the course of the study, the authors analyzed the activities of Komsomol organizations in the development of youth labor initiatives and patriotic mobilization of the population, identified the main forms of voluntary assistance and determined the labor contribution of the youth of the Ulyanovsk region to the front. It was established that the Komsomol Committee had established communications with all workshops of industrial enterprises, which made it possible to effectively raise funds for the creation of tank columns, aviation squadrons and artillery batteries.

Conclusion. Komsomol organizations and party bodies actively interacted with young people and attracted them to assist the Red Army, which was one of the decisive factors in the country’s victory over fascism.
