Abstraсt

Introduction. The pandemic has affected the activities of most enterprises, with several industries particularly affected, including tourism. It is important to study the characteristics of the activities of organizations involved in this area, as well as the consequences that must be overcome or to which it is necessary to adapt, as they can be long-term. At a time of multiple economic sanctions, the activities of organizations representing the tourism sector have again become more complicated. In this regard, the relevance of research on the development of tourism in Russia is increasing significantly. The purpose of this article is to identify the main changes that have taken place in the tourism industry in 2020 — 2021, as well as the actions of market participants to adapt to new conditions.

Materials and methods. A critical approach and a method of content analysis were used to summarize literary sources on the topic of the article. The data of Rosstat served as the information basis for the research. To achieve the goal of the research, a system of indicators characterizing the development of tourism was formed. The analysis of indicators was carried out using various methods of economic and statistical analysis.

Results and discussion. Despite the strict restrictions on the movement of people introduced in 2020, competition in the tourist services market has not eased, leading to government support measures. Over the 2 years of the pandemic, changes have changed, and the structure of the tourist flow has been greatly reduced. The increase in the number of overnight stays was due to an increase in the average duration of the trip. To conduct a more in-depth analysis, it is necessary to include among the indicators reflecting the dynamics of tourism the “average expenses of persons accommodated in collective accommodation facilities”, which makes it possible to assess the change in the structure of the tourist flow and the solvency of guests.

Conclusion. Russians do not yet see an alternative to foreign holidays inside the country, as evidenced by the decrease in the number of those who used the services of collective accommodation facilities in 2021 compared to 2019. Based on the results of the analysis, as well as taking into account the results of sociological surveys that identified the needs and requests of Russians organization of recreation, it is proposed to focus the efforts of the state on the development of beach recreation centers. The necessity of state support measures for certain segments of the population (primarily families with children, students, pensioners and other socially vulnerable categories) has been proved.
