Medical Care of the Family in Bashkiria in the Mid-1980s — Early 1990s

Abstract

Introduction. Medical care is an important element in the social protection system of the population. Turning to this problem, we note its relevance and versatility. Human health is an important resource that everyone needs for life. A healthy person is the labor potential of the state. The formation and preservation of health is a task entrusted to both the institutions of society and the individual. The chronological framework of the study was determined in the mid-1980s — early 1990s. The appeal to this period is connected with the goal, which is the need to identify and analyze the compliance of medical care with the needs of the population, family members in conditions of social and environmental instability. In this regard, the following tasks are set: to present the indicators of fertility and mortality, morbidity of the population of the republic, to identify the main measures to improve the environmental situation in the republic, to note and disclose measures aimed at solving issues related to family health care.

Materials and methods. The research materials are compiled as unpublished (archival documents) so are the published (statistical and periodic oven data) sources. The methods of analysis and historicism were used in the work.

Results and discussion. The article analyzes the medical care of the family in Bashkiria, shows the dynamics of indicators of the natural movement of the population (fertility, mortality, including infant and maternal mortality). The general ecological situation in the republic is considered from the point of view of the factor that has a decisive impact on the health indicators of the population.

Conclusion. As a result of the study, it was found that against the background of environmental instability and transformations taking place during the study period, medical care required a lot of attention. The leadership of the republic, as well as enterprises, organizations, public associations, took practical me-asures to improve the health of the population and its working conditions, to provide me-dicines, food, etc.
