Diagnostics of Factors Affecting the Competitiveness of an Industrial Enterprise under External Challenges

Abstraсt

Introduction. In modern conditions, the influence of external threats and challenges on all spheres of activity of industrial enterprises is increasing. To remain competitive in the Russian and foreign markets, an enterprise needs to research and proactively respond to these challenges, as well as identify factors that affect competitiveness and establish their relationship with external challenges.

Materials and methods. In the course of the research, modern approaches of foreign and domestic scientists to the classification of factors affecting the competitiveness of an industrial enterprise were studied. To identify these factors, which are most dependent on the scale of external challenges, methods of systematization, comparison, and critical analysis were used. The main method was the expert assessment method of the mutual influence of external challenges and competitiveness factors.

Results and discussion. This article studies the main factors influencing the competitiveness of an industrial enterprise. The modern external challenges that determine the dynamics and nature of the influence of such factors are determined. On the basis of the expert assessment method, the scale of the mutual influence of external challenges and competitiveness factors of enterprises, which are significant for substantiating individual preventive measures and a proactive strategy for increasing their competitiveness, was established.

Conclusion. The main external challenges that have the most significant impact on the competitiveness factors of an industrial enterprise were identified. The results obtained are an important component in the development and implementation of solutions in terms of considering and controlling the scale of the impact of external challenges on the choice of a strategy for managing the competitiveness of Russian industrial enterprises.
