Mironova E. V.

Abstraсt

Introduction. The purpose of this article is to conduct a source analysis of the epistolary complex, which consists of one telegram and seven letters from representatives of the Kazan branch of the noble Boratynsky family.

Materials and methods. The addressee of the letters is the figure of public education S. A. Rachinsky, his sister Varvara Alexandrovna and mother Varvara Abramovna. The addressees are S. A. Rachinsky's cousin N. E. Boratynsky and his family — wife Olga Alexandrovna, daughter Ksenia and son Alexander. All the documents under study are in the Rachinsky personal fund of the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts.

The results of the study and their discussion. The analysis of the sources was carried out in chronological order, which made it possible to study the letters of each of the correspondents sequentially. The author showed the family ties of the addressees with the addressers, their biographies, the topics that stand out in the letters, the epistolary manner of the correspondents. The letters can be divided into two major topics — the details of personal life (health status, everyday aspects, major events, family news) and social activities (zemstvo, pedagogical attitude to it).

Conclusion. In conclusion, a comparative analysis of the letters of each addressee was carried out, the distinctive features of the content and common features were identified. The conclusion is made about the worldview and views of some correspondents on the basis of letters. In the future, it is planned to identify and study Rachinsky's letters to the family of N. E. Boratynsky.
